Grades should reflect academic achievement only and not effort and participation.

While no minimum grade should be established, students should be allowed retakes on failing tests and assignments, based on classroom policies.

Homework should not be considered for a grade.

Daily work may include quizzes, response journals, center work, graphic organizers, projects, etc.

Three of the Summative assessments must be common grade level assessments.

One of the Writing Summative Assessments must be the quarterly writing genre grade.
